Cleaning of Drains and Ditches

Disposal of solid waste are not well managed in most of the urban and rural areas of Bangladesh due to lack of public awareness. Municipal dustbins are not been used properly, garbage from households thrown here and there, as a result the drains and ditches ultimately become breeding points of mosquito & other harmful insects. To get rid of this situation, BEDO initiated cleaning drains and ditches around Dhaka city regularly. This program started in Dhaka district in 1994 and continued up to 1998.
